The Washington County Sheriff's Office is a full-service agency for the Springfield, KY community, and has jurisdiction over all of Washington County. Sheriff Tommy Bartley is supported by five full-time deputies.

The goal of the Washington County Sheriff's Office is to provide service, protection, law enforcement and crime prevention to all Washington County citizens!

The 2008 property taxes are now due and payable at the Sheriff's office. The collection dates are:

• 2% discount Oct. 15,2008 - Nov.15, 2008
• Face amount Nov. 16, 2008 - Dec.31, 2008
• 5% penalty Jan.1, 2009 - Jan. 31, 2009
• 21% penalty Feb. 1, 2009 - March 31, 2009

The Sheriff's delinquent tax bill sale will be held the beginning of April 2009. Your bill must be paid in full to avoid the extra penalties, and the trouble to get the tax lien released from your property.
